kidlets

Fun evening of babysitting our favorite neighbours. Here's Alex watching a truly painful teen/"tween" movie with them. Ugh. The girls were fun (mostly) though & it was good to spend time with them, even if they only have eyes for Alex.

wow

We did it! We're all moved -for the most part. I think we will be going back & forth to Mel's for quite some time. Cleaning her place & picking up the odds & ends that didn't make it in the big move.

It's weird to be here inthe new place. It doesn't feel real. We slept here last night. It will take about a week to get the bed built & where it's supposed to go. Everyone was a huge help & all were great troopers. Such a great team. Thanks!!!! Now we are surrounded by boxes that need to be sorted, put away or thrown away.

Today, however, is a recovery day. Sleeping in. Napping. Piddling about. It's also the day when we find out what we will hate about this place. The LOUD guy that just got his entertainment system delivered & it echoes very loudly throughout the courtyard. Every time the front entryway buzzes we can hear it. The plac next door is the model for showing off the apartments so they are in & out constantly during the open house. The door slams really hard & shakes the walls. We are near the airport & the planes are not quiet. We're still trying to figure out the hot water. I miss my sister. All those fun things.

So, we'll see how it goes. We will make it a very fun home, but it is definately not a quiet place. I'll just have to pretend I'm in NYC. Now... can we unpack some books?

moving day

Today is the day Alex & I have been waiting for for years. Moving into our own place in LA. We can have most of our stuff under one roof for once. It will be awesome. The place we chose is a loft so there is not a lot of storage (uh, none really) so we will leave some things in Melissa's garage. Archive stuff & camping gear. But we will finally get to unpack our wedding presents, which we haven't seen in 3 years and never used (!!!).

Friends, Paul, Nina, Alan & of course Melis are helping us move what feels like a lot of stuff across town.

Let's get going!!!

moving fast

We are just rocking along here in Lala land. We're looking at places to live, we both got new mobile phones and, hello!, Alex bought a new car!!! Yea! We have been a one car family for 3 years now. (It does help that wew were in London for most of that time, with a car, but Melis was driving the one here & didnt' have one of her own, so it still counts) He's been thinking of this for a very long time. We are so excited. It's so happy & red & fun! Yea!!! Congrats sweets! =)
