happy winter celebration!

Today we celebrated christmas by waking up late, me recovering from my last day of work last night. And opened our gifts.

We took a walk in Holland Park, which apparently was THE thing to do. Needles to say we were not alone. But We walked all over & saw the fox & the bunnies & birdies, a fun Robin (very english). It was really wonderful.

Then we went back home and started to pack for our early morning flight to LAPLAND!! Yippieeeeeee!

Let me be the first to wish you a happy 2005!!!!

the end... for now

Yesterday was the last day for me at Ealing Studios. I had to clear up all my stuff in my office. Anyone who knows me, knows this is not a small task. When I have a space, I dive in. It's the cancer sign in me. I make it home in days. And there is a lot to do to get out. So, I finished up my work & started packing. I worked all evening and finally got out in the wee hours of the morning. I left some things there that I would need if I do the EPK but I don't want those cluttering up the flat unnecessarily. I can't believe it's over. That is soo odd. When I started this project I was only supposed to be on for 5 months in LA as a manager. And I end up two years later in London as a co-editor. Weird, eh? I'm exhausted by the whole thing, but sad too. Bye =(

happy happy to you!

Last night we went to a local ex-pub, now fun restaurant, The Abingdon for Alex's birthday. We were met by Tony, Jan & Walter. What a great night. The food was scrumcious, and the company even better. Even though they didn't need to, people brought gifts & cards for the birthday man. Yea!!! It was a great night and a fab excuse to see everyone.

Thanks for coming! And Happy Day Sweets!!!! xoxoxox

the first of many

Today was Bryan's last day at work (well, he's coming in tomorrow, but I'm not). He's an assistant here in our editorial department. It's been fun having him around & learning about Canada & having someone to commiserate with on many issues. Alex & he went out a couple times to jazz & he came over for game nights & Thanksgiving. He's off to Toronto & home for the holidays so we'll see him when he gets back. Today is the last day for many people today. Next Friday there's even MORE! Then the next week it's ME!!! EEEEK!

We were on TV last night!!!! There's a show on BBC2 called the culture show. It's a weekly show about the happenings in culture in the UK. Isn't that fun? Anyhoo, last night they has a 6min-ish bit on Valiant. It's the first CG animated film done here. Well, you can read about it here.

BBC article on Valiant

I will try & digitize the clip & put it online if I can. It was so fun to see! They interviewed our Line Producer Tom & our director, Gary. But the most fun was almost all the footage was from things that I'd created! They played almost all of the trailer that Alex & I did. (they couldn't play the songs we used, but they used the visuals as background) I put together a scene progression for a conference last week that shows a scene through Boards, Layout, Animation, FX & final Comp. It's really fun, and they used that. They used footage of Pip Torrens that I had found for them. Yea! There are reporters & cameras here all the time now. This might be a big thing I'm working on (in the UK). =\
