Bone Box

First up is a new discovery – a band out of Manchester, England called Bone Box, and their amazing album Death of a Prizee Fighter.

These guys are what you’d get if Tom Waits and Social Distortion got together with the string section of the Waterboys. They produce a big full sound with plenty of grit and depth. They’re worth searching out when you get a chance.

I heard them on NPR’s Soundopinions (proof that there’s still a place for interesting music on FM). But, of course the album had to come from AmazonUK because it ain’t available in the States yet -hopefully that will soon change.

Another album of theirs is in the mail, heading my way, so I’ll see if the love lasts.
